"I pride myself in capturing the likeness and character of the subject/s. I paint from photographs as this is more effective than painting animals from life, as it enables me to get a far superior likeness."
Lorna Dredyer
Lorna Dredger is an experienced, professional animal portrait artist from Witham, Essex.
Her interests in art and design were established in childhood, due to her father's profession as an architect and her mother's talent for oil painting being major influences for her early on. After leaving school, she studied, window display and art history, and some graphic design. Lorna then qualified as a window dresser and continued to paint as a hobby, painting people, still life and animals for many years until it eventually became her career.
Lorna produces varied and original works of art and specialises in horses, dogs and cats but does sometimes paint people and other subjects such as boats, houses, landscapes and vehicles. She works mostly in Pastels.
She has had various commercial commissions, including images for a range of stationary.
